On August 30th 2020 at 1:00 am I received the phone call that forever changed my life. My son Joseph died in my home at 9:30 pm. While watching tv, he simply just went to sleep. Almost 2 1/2 yrs prior, my son started consuming Kratom. He was a business owner and worked a part time job.  

He was introduced to Kratom as a safe form of energy. And was told it was much healthier than Red Bull. Joseph was my only child, he was a 38 yr old healthy young man and a father of 3 amazing boys. Should not of died. My grandsons should not have lost their dad. Their dad will never be able to watch them reach their milestones. Why? Because Kratom took it all away.

He was our world. Joseph was smart, fun loving and just loved life. This man could do anything. His boys and myself were his world. That man could cook up a storm . But hated to do dishes. So many memories. 38 yrs of beautiful memories taken away because of a so called natural supplement.

My son had 2 grand mal seizures in which the Doctor couldn’t find any known causes. Stated maybe worked too many hours, said slow down etc.

Dec 13, 2020 I finally get my son’s autopsy reports back and the final results and cause of death was: Accidental Mitragynine (Kratom) Toxicity.

This was the sole cause of my son’s death. My son was a giver on earth and even gave the gift of sight and life after he passed. I will forever be proud of my son. And he is forever missed by many. I will be my son’s VOICE to bring changes, I was there when he took his first breath and I wasn’t when he took his last.

But I promise I will be his VOICE and VOICE of others.

Kratom is a dangerous substance, it is addictive and causes deaths.
